Model United Nations Simulations
ABOUT THE EVENT
The International Community Model United Nations, is an innovative event aiming at simulating the diplomatic processes of the United Nations General Assembly: through the Rules of Procedure the final result will be the approval of a Resolution. Students, as in a role-play game, will be representing an Ambassador of a UN member country in a determined sub-committee of the G.A. discussing relevant and current world issues, which might cover several aspects: from science and technology to the economy and the environment. After the success of our first online edition, we are now turning to an in-presence event!

If you are a student who is really interested in international relation or who is only seeking to live an unforgettable international experience, meeting several colleagues from all over the world, than this conference is a great opportunity for you. The conference is articulated into conference activities and additional events, including visits to the UN and around Vienna and a potential meeting with diplomats! The temporary schedule is as follows:
committee sessions: 26th -28th Aug. 2022 Additional (non-compulsory) activities: 29th -31st Aug. 2022
Participants, however, should be over the age of 18 and hold a B1+ English certification to fully enjoy the conference.

WHY YOU SHOULD PARTICIPATE

YOUR PARTICIPANTS ABOUT THE SIMULATION:

The most important aspect of life, are people and it’s these people that make our life events worthwhile. Becoming part of model G20 was one of the best decisions I made in life, because it connected me to a community of like minded people around the world. The warmth I felt in interacting with people from different corners of the world while sitting at my home in India, cannot be put into words. Further, from the way the event was structured, to the discussion sessions, to drafting a communique, everything was wrapped so perfectly around public skills that it makes you push your limits and give your best. The best skill I took back from G20 was how to negotiate and ask meaningful questions. It was an experience of a lifetime that I will always be grateful for…

I chose to participate in MG20, since I study law and have interest in global politics. I believe that through participation’s in projects such as MG20 aspiring university students as well as young professionals can benefit a lot. For me, it was significant that the discussion were based on topical challenges for the global community what made this simulation similar to the real G20. My favorite part was the process of amending the final communique, during which I learnt more about negotiation.
